Pipsissewa, Princes Pine, Gaagigebagohns

Commute to and from Asubpeeschoseewagong First Nation (Grassy Narrows) for me was 3500 total kilometers of medicine country! Every chance we had we were stopping and collecting all the goodies those beautiful bogs had to offer, chaga, black spruce gum, labrador tea etc. In this photo we found Pipsissewa, an excellent treat for us southerners.

Pipsissewa is a Cree word for this plant that describes unique ability to crumble into tiny particles when dry. 'Piisapiisaa' is a weather term in my Ojibwe dialect used to describe 'drizzling' and fine snow is 'piispwa' the color purple is 'piisagaandeh' What is the commonality? Small particles. What do small particles have to do with the color purple?

Manitoulin has a island called Strawberry Island which was traditionally known as Piisa-aazhbik-cokning (purple rock island) The reason for this name is this island has a tiny purple rock that crumbles easily into small particles and you boil those small particles to make a brilliant purple dye.

I heard on CBC radio a few years ago that there was no such thing as a natural purple dye, and that all species have been over consumed and are now extinct. Strawberry island still has this rock and a natural purple dye still exists.

The plant Pipsissewa is also called Prince's Pine, it is used in nearly every compound medicine as the primary ache reliever, it is my go-to aid for fibromyalgia as well, here why:

CoX2 is an enzyme thrown out of whack when you are fighting different virus's like colds and flu's, this is the cause of 'flu aches' It is just this enzyme eating away at everything causing that pain. This enzyme is also thrown out of whack when you have fibromyalgia which is a gnawing pain in every fiber of your body. Again most advanced theories on this pain point the finger to the enzyme CoX2 eating away at every fiber of your body causing this incredible pain.

Pipsissewa, natures most effective CoX2 inhibitor. Pain, gone. A lot of really 'innovative' pharmaceuticals ie. Celebrex attempt to mimic natural CoX2 inhibitors but in comparative studies cannot come close. They are still worth around 3 billion/year per brand, there are almost a dozen with that worth.

Pipsissewa in my language is called Gaagigebagohns, which means 'forever the same' its called this because it is such a gorgeous plant in that it is evergreen, it is available all year, even under 3 meters of snow. This plant is the epitome of a concept that I teach about availability. Evergreens are evergreen for a reason. The reason is that you need them, all year. You cannot live without them. In reverse, this world could not have been created to seasonally starve you of these plants. All evergreens have been created to survive -50 degree weather and wind-chills of -80 just so you can harvest them on a need/want-basis. Even if you forgot to harvest them before snowfall they will always be there for you. This is a very important concept that really needs to be taken advantage of in the most proper way.
This is a plant that I found on the side of hwy 17, it carpeted the border of every bog. The amount I harvested for my family and friends took a mere 20 minutes. Where I harvested, because of the way I harvested, that area will have double the amount of Pipsissewa next year. I love our Creator for giving us everything that we need to stay healthy, heal and all the knowledge we need to be proper stewards of this land.

Bathing like our ancients

Traditional woodlands life of the Algonquin people was largely absent of soap. Yet most of our elders still alive today do not remember body odor? What are we missing!?
What many teach is that the woodlands people were historically known as "The Doctors" of, nearly the entire continent. We would trade medicine with the great Iroquoian and Sioux tribes our well known compound medicines for some staple foods.

We held this title because we were the ones who lived in the forest with all the medicinal plants. We protected and harvested from the medicine hub of the continent known today as Manitoulin Island. Woodlands people were and are still today some of the most knowledgeable medicine keepers.
How did the woodlands people stay clean? Simple, bark baths and cedar baths. We would simply harvest bark during barking season (cedar can be harvested at anytime), and tap into it all winter by making giant pots of tea and have good ol basin/sponge baths. Today, the original context of use is completely gone! Today, we use bark baths to treat some of the worst of skin conditions. This means that the ancient way of a simple bath is now an intense treatment, how sick are we?!

Your body only cleans itself three ways: poop, pee and sweat (if your a woman, breast milk, however I do hope a baby is not at the receiving end of this detox.) Most of us are quite familiar with the first two but what about sweating? We dont seem to be doing much sweating these days, so here it is. Our lymphatic system is what our body uses to get rid of waste through sweating. What does cedar and these barks do? Purge it.
Let me help you understand just how crazy this is. Your lymphatic system is absolutely amazing, it  weaves in just about every blood capillary and its job is to collect waste from the blood and eject it via, your skin.  These bark baths completely purge the lymphatic system, giving your body the ability to collect even more waste from your blood and the trend of detox continues. A spotless lymphatic system means among other things; no body odor, you heal a million times faster from cuts, colds and leaky guts etc! Our bodies are meant to operate with a clean lymphatic system. Remember how fast infants and toddlers heal?

To make even more sense of it, all three barks used are extreme - almost uncomfortable - diaphoretics. They make you sweat. What these bark baths do is open every pore as large as they go and draw out the water from inside as fast as it can. This is literally pressure washing every pore on your body.

The most extensively used barks are Alder, Trembling Aspen and Willow. This combination is a powerhouse for purging the lymphatic system of build-up, relief from lymphatic blockages, studies even suggest that this combination has what your body needs to rebuild lymphatic tissue called lymphoid tissue genesis.
Some intense studies have been done on these bark baths and their extremely fascinating benefit to sufferers of skin cancers, eczema, worms, lupus, measels, acne, cold sores, psoriasis, rosacea, warts, cellulitis, ageing, carbuncles, ulcers, fungus's, diaper rashs, and last but not least, shingles.
This is by far one of the most successful baths I have ever seen and am thoroughly thankful that I have been given the knowledge and the resources to be able to harvest and re-create this ancient woodlands way of bathing it and offer it to some of the most wonderful people needlessly suffering these terrible conditions.
Let's take a deeper look into some of the specifics of each bark bath ingredient.

Poplar

The type of poplar used is trembling aspen. This tree is not unlike any other tree on the planet, it has one specific medicinal use and it has been created to show you what that use is. I really want you to test this one! If you stand outside on any day, and observe all the different trees, from a distance or up close you will begin to notice dramatic differences between the lot. The most striking for most is movement. It is how oak leaves do not flutter in the breeze and a strong gust wont even budge the branches, it is completely still. Whereas a brisk breeze rocks maple branches, but the leaves will not flutter. Wind will send ash trunks into a wave but the massive compound leaves, though droopy, barely rock back and forth.
Then something amazing happens when you look over at trembling aspen, suddenly its name will make the most sense. The slightest breeze to this sometimes massive tree will send thousands upon thousands of leaves into a fluttering frenzy. The leaves, vibrant with a bright green top and an almost silvery bottom flickering against the bright blue sky, in addition to the sound of the leaves flapping against the branchlets mimicking the sound of waves white capping over a sandy beach. Trembling aspens signature feature is blatantly clear when paid even the slightest of attention. Trembling aspen calms.
Why is this added to the bark bath? What do warts, rashes, eczema, skin cancer, ulcers, carbuncles, psoriasis and other related skin conditions have in common? Agitation. Poplars job is to come in and calm everything down, rid of inflammation around dermal tissues. With that inflammation gone our bodies can now fix the issues at hand.

Alder/Cedar
Alder and cedar are one of the most amazing skin medicines. This is what I believe is most responsible for the long term healing. This bark and these leaves I clump together because their mechanism of action is very similar, they can be used together or separate.

These two powerhouses dilate every pore they touche and draw out water from the deepest depths of your body. Stimulating your lymphatic system. The most incredible system designed to eliminate bodily waste via sweat.

The lymphatic system weaves in every blood capillary and pulls waste from your blood and ejects it out of your skin. A lot of skin issues like rashes and lesions are due to the lymphatic system eliminating something that irritates your skin.

The lymphatic system is very sensitive to damage. It needs quite a few things to maintain itself, to be able to repair damage that has been done. One of the most important processes involved is called lymphoid tissue genesis. Cedar and alder bark throw this process through the roof repairing your lymphatic system so quickly making your body more efficient at eliminating waste and not letting it build up.

Red Oiser Dogwood/Willow
Red Oiser Dogwood, most often called red willow, and shrub willows are put in this bath to relieve inflammation and pain.
Inflammation blocks normal function, especially wrong inflammation. In regard to bathing and lymphatic system and curing skin issues, inflammation blocks your lymphatic system, literally pinching it not allowing toxic waste out, sometimes letting it sit near the surface of the skin wreaking havoc, causing the worst of rashes. Willows and Red Oiser Dogwood relieve that inflammation allowing the flow out of your skin. All of this also happens with a lot less pain because both willow and red oiser have some of the most amazing pain relieving compounds, salicin for willow and verbenalin for red oiser.

Half-day Adventure

This is an out-on-the-field, knowledge based adventure! I will exhaustively stress the three proofs of plant based medicine: Traditional, Scientific and The Doctrine of Signatures with wondrous wild plants - in season - across your nearest wilderness area. Participants will learn the basics and intricacies of identifying based on the ancient wisdom that holds deep historical and modern importance. Participants will be well introduced to the idea and capable to explore and identify plant based medicines. The Creators Gardens' half-day adventures a sure: "Foundation for Investigation" This adventure is available in every season.

Full-day(s) Adventure

The Creators Garden Adventure days will be out on the field exploring your traditional shorelines, harvesting areas, urban areas and everything possible that is in between. On the field I will identify medicines and explain each and every one of their linguistic, historical, cultural, edible ecological and medicinal significance through experience. The information given is very thorough. Throughout the day(s) we will get our harvest on to make teas and tools. Tactile hands on learning is the best way for most, this will be the most extensively used teaching method. We will be in our vehicles as least possible and trekking outside hopefully, rain or shine with the lovely bugs for a grueling, life changing 8 hour day full of inspiration and motivation.

The Legitimacy of Plant-Based Medicine Presentation

Participants will receive my world renown presentation called: "The Legitimacy of Plant-Based Medicine." This presentation goes through common food and traditional plants where I explain in great detail what are called the 3 proofs. First the traditional understanding, second the explicit empirical science proving the traditional wisdom and applications. Third, the ancient method of interpreting the medicinal use of plants called the Doctrine of Signatures.

The third is the most important, most significant and most emphasized. It is simple and easy to grasp for all ages. This will be the most important concept for participants to grasp and utilize. The Doctrine of Signatures uniqueness is what will give participants a significant edge in their identifying and applicable abilities. It is because I am the first to prove this ancient understanding on an international scale, why what I offer is different, unique and sought-after.

I have so much fun delivering this presentation. It is a really great introduction to the idea that plants is where we derive healing. I give plant based medicine all the legitimacy it needs for you the believe in it.

Tea Time

The Creators Garden Tea Times are a reveled favorite! A single or multiple pot(s) of a specified or unspecified tea is brewed for large and small crowds. While it is brewing I take you on an story-telling adventure through the brewee's linguistic, historical, cultural, edible, ecological and medicinal significance. Then we drink and partake in everything the always enjoyable plant has to give us. Tea times range between 2-4 hours.

I love going into communities and having this little events, they are usually quite successful! In Six Nations recently, we had 50 people register, expected 5 but 41. These numbers blew everyone away! This is pretty normal, and I think there are a few reasons for it.

- It is the thirst our people have traditional knowledge.
- It is the dire situation our people are in, we are a very sick people.
- It feels natural to know plant based medicine, so every opportunity people just jump on it, it doesn't matter if they have to miss The Young and the Restless!

I also really appreciate the opportunity I have had with our seniors centres! I absolutely adore our elders. The best thing that I get to do at these tea times is take them on a great trip down memory lane. We get to drink teas and experience different mixtures that they grew up with, or that they grew up learning about. What is so special about this is that they are things that a lot of them thought were consigned to the history books! When they get to experience them again its always heart warming. I also get to prove to them that plant based medicine is a legitimate practice. That plant based medicinal knowledge that they have or grew up hearing stories about are real, the practice itself is still something that modern science and billions of dollars worth of research is being dedicated to know what they knew, what their knowledge holders knew. It is truly an amazing experience to see our elders realize they have something special. They are always unforgettable experiences for both me and the participants.

Medicine Walks

We at Creators Garden are always available for a medicine walk anywhere at any time in any season including winter, whatever length, at any difficulty. We are willing and able to customize your experience with us, so tailor it to your schedule!

On our medicine walks we love to show you all the different plants and which medicine they are. We will show you how to interpret their medicinal use.

The goal of a medicine walk is to make the forest come alive. We want to introduce you to the stories these beautiful plants are telling, we want to teach you the names of the plants in the native language. The names of these plants are fascinating, they have so many meanings. In just the name you can understand where the plant grows, what it sounds like, what it tastes like and even its utility use! When you understand the plants in our language the forest comes alive.

Let me help you make sense of this, lets take a redundant plant like Scouring rush, its just a plant called “scouring rush” goes from being just a plant that probably doesn't mean much. You might have some trivial knowledge of this plant like: “Hey that is the plant that Sid the Sloth uses on Ice Age” or “Spike from land before time loves that plant!” and “When I was little I used to pretend were cigarettes.”

We will take you from a no or a trivial knowledge to a plant that is the most amazing medicine for increasing bone density and bringing relief to arthritis. From a plant called scouring rush to a plant called Gziibnashk, which means that it grows beside a river, makes a screaming sound, tastes sour and its used to 'scrub things down'. So that next time your driving by a forest or walking past this plant it has more 'life' in it, it has more meaning and you feel more connected to it. Emotions are what connect human beings to one another, understanding and experience is what connects human beings to creation. The more you are connected to something the less likely you are to hurt it.

Training

Intent: Teach maximum of 40 participants the basics and intricacies of identifying traditional medicines based on ancient significance and importance. This team will be well equipped to explore local and non-local areas to identify and even use traditional medicine.

Day one will be theory, done inside. Participants will receive my world renown presentation called the legitimacy of plant based medicine. This presentation goes through food and traditional medicines and explains in detail what are called the 3 proofs. Firstly the traditional understanding, second the explicit empirical science proving the ancient knowledge and applications. Third, the method of interpreting the medicinal use of plants called the Doctrine of Signatures.

The third is the most important and most significant. It is simple and easy to grasp for all ages, this will be the most important and most unique concept for participants to grasp and utilize. The Doctrine of Signatures uniqueness is what will give this team a significant edge in their identifying abilities. It is because I am the first to prove this on an international scale, why what I offer is different, unique and sought-after.

The rest of the days will be out on the field exploring local areas including shorelines, harvesting areas, urban areas and everything possible that is in between. Training programs are a minimum of 4 field days. On the field I will identify medicines and explain each and every one of their linguistic, historical, cultural, edible and medicinal significance through experience. The information given is very thorough. Throughout the week we will get our harvest on and make several teas and tools. Tactile hands on learning is the best way for most so, other than the first day this will be the most extensively used teaching method. We will be in our vehicles as least possible and trekking outside hopefully, rain or shine with the lovely bugs for grueling, life changing 8 hour days full of inspiration and motivation.

These days will be incredibly intensive, the end result will be a team of individuals that are well introduced to the idea of plant based medicine. The group will be able to go out into unknown territory and develop and provide a very unique inventory. The second goal with this program is to instill enough motivation so further independent local education is pursued.

This program is intensely tailored to fit the needs of the audience it is projected to. Tour guides, Traditional ecological knowledge trainee's, Child and Family Services and Health Care Professionals across Ontario are just a few examples of happy recipients of this program.

Bring 'Medicine that makes sense' your organization/community

Some of the most fun I have with our business is going into organizations and teaching about medicine. For most it is an introduction, and for some of our seasoned knowledge holders it is a 'refreshing more practical outlook'

Because we moved to Peterborough and are now surrounded by what we would consider 'local opportunity' we have created a program designed to touch everyone surrounding us.

Here are some of the things we have done in the past that were a huge success! We want to have the greatest impact possible when doing our work, we want your organization and community to feel transformed! What we have been doing lately and having wild success is having a hands on objective.

Since arthritis is the number one disease that affects First Nations People, the arthritis salve is obviously the activity of choice here. So we spend a few days together creating this salve, I will come with all the materials required to complete the salve.
We will come with the plants: Red oiser dogwood, Willow, Cedar, Spruce Gum and Poplar buds.
We will come with the tools: slow cookers, knives, jars, jelly bags, coconut oil, Stir spoons and sieves
Participants spend the week creating this infamous salve that has had success in my personal life to every form of arthritis (except JRA) and get a few jars at the end. It will take some work though, participants will be responsible for shaving the bark, proper cooking and straining each ingredient! Thats the fun part, but it doesnt end there!

Its so fun because at the beginning of the week I pass around a salve that I have already completed, so they get a taste of the final product, and so far 100% of the time that I have done this there has been someone who speaks out because the little sample of salve that they put on in the beginning of the day, they have some restored movement, pain gone, numbness gone etc. its really fun to be able to see participants effected like this so quickly, and serves as a great motivation for some hard work throughout the week!

So while we are making the salve I will go through an adapted presentation; The Legitimacy of Plant Based Medicine. A presentation designed for health care professionals like doctors, nurses, researchers etc.

We will also bring all of our medicine to teach about all week, so everyone will receive all of this amazing information and throughout the week we will be drinking at least 2 different kinds of tea each day and because I will have all my medicines with me we will be able to drink the medicine I am lecturing about and you will also be able to see, touch, smell and hear the sample jars I have.

This can all be done fairly quickly and easily. One thing that I highly suggest is a day of consultation. The reason for this is simple. I am going to be teaching that there is medicine out there to heal any issue, any sickness. I am going to be talking about all kinds of crazy stories that happened with me personally and many of these stories are of sickness that participants are dealing with, or their partners, children, siblings, parents etc. And at the end of our time together they want answers and direction. Many times participants are either too shy to ask their question for privacy sake or they just did not want to interrupt the teaching that was taking place. So we can solve all of this by doing a day of private consultations.

Consultations

I teach that there is a plant to cure any illness. When I deliver my teachings I use almost exclusively personal stories of things that happened to me, and the medicine is plants that I harvested within an hours drive. I am not here to teach you about plants from a remote island in the Bermuda Triangle, and I am not going to teach you using tall-tale stories that I remember reading from an envelope I found on the streets a decade ago. I use stories that happened to me, and I do my best to use the most recent, and the most local to wherever I am teaching. I want to be real. I want people to realize that this can easily be them.

There is never an easier way to get overwhelmed with questions after a presentation than teaching that there is medicine to fix every illness using a very real, very relatable method. Sickness affects everyone. Everyone has their own illness, or their partner does, children, siblings, parents, grandparents etc. We all know someone who can use the help and when you receive real, relatable information about how amazing our medicine is you are going to want to know how to get on the healing train.

I have a ton of fun going into different organizations just to go through staff or clients delivering private consultations regarding medicine and health. It starts a wave in the workplace of perfect healing and allows happiness to thrive!

Salve Making Workshop

My grandmother remembers one season they had gardening issues and a failed crop, gardening was their family's sustenance. My great grandmother had to somehow gather up enough money to buy her food for the winter, her compromise, a salve. She spent a month making Minagan, a traditional mixture she resurrected through ancient inherited wisdom from pre-contact trading days. My gorgeous grandmother remembers that particular winter was the most luxurious winter, filled with some of the most lush foods. Her mothers salve had catapulted her family from famine to fortune for that winter and she will never forget it. This story is to illustrate just how valuable this salve was and is/should be today. There are 3 certain compound medicines that woodlands Algonquins were well known for:

Minagan - the salve, designed to heal anything topical.

Aabziitchagan - powdered tea, Esagamdek - liquid extract. Both designed to heal anything internal

Pkwenezagan - a smoke designed to clean the air, especially of human scent when hunting

Minagan is an ancient compound medicine that ranges from 6-40 different plants. This intense olden medicine is extremely important knowledge to revive and of course, practice once again. Salve making is definitely one of my most adored passions and as a result most heavily promoted.

This workshop session is a minimum of 4 days and capped at 25 days. A 4 day minimum session will result in our famous six ingredient concentrated arthritis salve. The yield is dependent on the amount of participants assisting. A 25 day maximum will result in the rare 35 ingredient, authentic Aanishnaabe Woodlands salve called: 'Minagan' and any other amount of days in between 4&25 will be just that much closer to the ancient Minagan.

These salve making days are incredibly intense but are absolutely invaluable. The end of the workshop sessions participants walk away with detailed instructional handouts and a portion of the salve created, but most of all, in-depth, hands on tactile experience to be able to pass down for generations.

Inventory/Environmental Impact Assessments, Traditional Ecological Knowledge style.

We also offer an inventory. If you have a beautiful property, a backyard or an entire reserve, we will walk every square inch and identify every medicinal plant and explain each of their linguistic, historical, cultural, edible and medicinal significance. I have also

We have lots of experience with inventory and are able to offer this program to just about any land mass.

In the end you will get a full report of as many photos from your property. The reports are loaded with stories depicting the significance of each plant whether it is medicinal, edible, utility, cultural, etc. So you will have a written document of all your properties significance. It's very eye opening to see a property you may have known your whole life suddenly come alive with a whole new perspective!

These reports are also complete with a reference list and have even been through Ontario Municipal Board hearings where I was recognized as an expert witness, after going through cross examinations!

Wildcrafted Withdrawal Symptom Management

This program is effective at delivering ancient knowledge designed to combat the top issues when going through addiction withdrawal. Here are a few of the top complaints: Nausea, Headaches, Itchiness, Night Terrors, Muscle Tension (anxiety) and Bowel Irregularity.
With understanding learned from local elders that constitute thousands of years of ancient wisdom and my recently enhanced method of interpreting the medicinal use of plants called The Doctrine of Signatures, I have developed various kits of a variety of different traditional medicines for treatment centers to implement a natural alternative, rather than the conventional, substitute.

Dandelion and Chicory Root Coffee

This is a very simple workshop that bypasses all the discombobulated information out there. We have done the research and have over a half a decade of experience of making the perfect roast. This workshop can be done just about anywhere.

We start with shovels and harvest the roots, clean, chop, dry, roast, grind and drink all in the same day!

This amazing coffee substitute has a rich chocolaty taste and contains all your body needs to completely regenerate your liver, and is also a huge help for diabetes sufferers out there. It also scrubs down the villi and microvilli in your small intestine that are responsible for absorbing 80% of all nutrients.

This is the perfect coffee substitute and you will make sure it is well hidden and only bring it out during the most special celebrations!

Bloodroot

Bloodroot

It is important to remember that yes, all plants do have a very significant - some might say - divinely inspired medicinal value, but what about the 'poisonous' ones?
Bloodroot is known for being incredibly toxic and one of North Americas most deadliest of plants. Sanguinarine is an alkaloid that is quite concentrated in the red juices of this beautiful root making it an unusually powerful arterial sedative, meaning very effective at stopping your heart. Thats right.
How can such a toxic plant possibly have medicinal value? Perhaps Circa Survive said it best when they named one of my favorite songs: 'The difference between medicine and poison is the dose.' Yes this plant is dangerous but used properly it is one of the most amazing women's medicines in preparation for pregnancy.
First, let me give you an idea of this plants potency. We all know that image of the woodlands warrior with a painted red face right? Much a stereotype
Every culture had a scare tactic used in warfare to first scare the enemy before having to face or deliver casualties. The front-line of the ancient Israelite armies walked carrying the ark which is well known for scaring the pants off
some relatively large armies, the Maoris of New Zealand had the haka-haka which the New Zealand all blacks rugby team adopted and by the way, have never lost a match. So in a way this scare tactic is still doing its job! The Scots invented this eerie instrument which the front-liners squealed in
Ireland's incredibly thick fog and gently creepy rolling hills. It was called the bagpipe, again they scared off some of the largest armies with a few hundred freaky bagpipes screaming
freaky songs, some of which that can be heard in recordings online. Let me tell you, you would not want to take another step toward the foggy screaming Scottish hills.

For us woodland warriors we had front-liners with pans of macerated bloodroot that we smeared on our faces. The red juices of bloodroot are most readily absorbed transdermally, through your skin. If that wasn't enough - in literature - excessive doses of bloodroot produces a high that extends to 'an alarming prostration of strength'! The stereotypical red painted warrior faces we all know is suddenly not just paint. It is natures most powerful arterial sedative that takes 15-20 minutes to stop your heart. Now we understand that these red faces had to be the scariest thing to see - that is - if your face is not red. Meaning if you are not literally a dead man walking, you are fleeing because you are not ready to die, whereas the red faced woodland warriors are already, dead. This was our war tactic that scared away some of the largest armies of enemy’s.
Observing this plant in nature it becomes alarmingly clear it is to be handled with severe caution. Squirrels are known for covering every square inch of the forest floor and canopy, but they will not go anywhere near any bloodroot. Deer trails seldom go through a patch of bloodroot, the meandering black bear doesn't go near it, and if it does, it stops as if to panic, turns around and exits the patch in the same footprints he came in on.
I hope I made it painfully clear that these plants are unique medicines for our bodies but are not to be handled unless you are with an amazingly accomplished professional. A lot are definitely considered poison but lets see in much greater detail the medicinal side of this beauty!

The 3 proofs of the medicinal claims of bloodroot:

Traditional:

Ancient woodlands midwifery, the way it was explained to me, which is in a traditional sense, is much different today than it was. Back in the day when a couple found each other, they would go to a midwife before getting pregnant. The midwife would give them a load of medicine to take before the couple even attempted reproducing and when the medicine was finished then the couple would then start to try and have a baby. There is a very real reason for this. It is said: the most terrible thing that can ever happen to a woman is a miscarriage or a still born. This medicine has everything needed to prevent this from happening. Bloodroot is a principle ingredient in this compound medicine so, needless to say, bloodroot is mainly used as a women's medicine to prepare the uterus for pregnancy, mostly by eliminating fibroids, the leading cause of miscarriages and still borns.

Scientific:

Uterine fibroids are one of the main causes of miscarriages. This is because the baby can only grow so big until the body realizes that the fibroid's are taking up to much room and this baby cannot get any bigger, which prompts its evacuation. If we can find out how to get rid of fibroids, if we can find out how to stimulate their regression, we are then able to combat the leading cause of a miscarriage/stillborn.
Lets talk about the uterus! Let me first start out by saying that the cause and exact etiology of Uterine fibroids is not known. I am not able to refer to direct studies done. What I will do is look at all causes and contributors to fibroids and show you peripherally. Some of the main factors involved are very well known. Lets take a look at the factors that we know are involved in the creation and proliferation of uterine fibroids:
The first subgroup we will explore are the different growth factors involved in their genesis and growth. In the issue of uterine fibroids,

Chelerythrine is the second most prominent compound in bloodroot, let me give you an idea of one of its most famous action, A protein Kinase C inhibitor, using the example of one of the most dangerous cancers out there. Some cancers are more susceptible to radio therapy than others, also some cancers are more susceptible to chemo therapy than others, whereas some cancers are resistant to radio and some are resistant to chemo. There is a cancer out there that is both chemo and radio-resistant, squamous cell carcinomas. They are among the deadliest. Many large studies were done one of the larger ones done on 9 of these deadly cancers brought the result of bloodroot's compound chelerythrine right into the spotlight. Studies outlined Chelerythrines unusually 'perfect' activity as a protein kinase C inhibitor, this action elevated it to be one of the most promising anti-squamous cell carcinoma killers.

Transforming Growth Factor Beta1 (TGF-beta1)

Transforming growth factor beta-1 or TGF-beta1 is a known factor in the development of fibroids. To show you; a study done by the Department of Urology in the North Western University Medical School in Chicago Illinois in 1997 shows that Protein kinase C inhibition (of which chelerythrine is literally one of the best.) is an event associated with TGF-beta1 postreceptor signaling. Which means that chelerythrine mediates suppression of cell proliferation. Which makes chelerythrine a suppressor of one of the largest factors in the development of fibroid's.

Protein Kinase C inhibition is bloodroot most amazing advantages in the expulsion of fibroids. Non-mediated growth factors is one of the main issues in the most advanced theories in the genesis of fibroids, below we are going to explore how chelerythrine's protein kinase c inhibition mediates these growth factors eliminating the main cause and whats needed to stimulate the beginning of their end, their regression.
Keep in mind that these are mediators not eliminators. Meaning that bloodroot is not throwing your whole body out of whack, it is simply returning it back to normal.

Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor or bgfg

Chelerythrine provided by bloodroot, again, inhibit Protein Kinase C which has been shown to heavily mediate bfgf proliferation. Meaning bloodroot controls the amount of bfgf being made, which means that bloodroot controls or mediates the proliferation of another big and necessary factor in the development of fibroid's.
Epidermal Growth Factor or EGF

Perhaps the effects of Chelerythrine on EGF are best described using its role in the deadly Squamous cell carcinoma research we had talked about earlier. EGF is absolutely necessary for the survival and growth of Squamous Cell carcinoma, but EGFs survival relies upon PKC production. When Chelerythrine comes in and inhibits (completely) PKC production, guess whos proliferation is halted – yes – EGF. Without our friend EGF we have created an environment that squamous cell carcinoma cannot grow in, and an environment in which regression can begin. EGF is also necessary for fibroid development, and again, with PKC completely inhibited, no more growing fibroids and an environment in which regression can begin is created!
Platelet derived growth factor, vascular endothelial growth factor and insulin-like growth factor are the three remaining growth factors that are involved in the creation and growth of fibroids and all are absolutely halted by safely ingestible concentrations of bloodroots chelerythrine.

Telomerase

Chelerythrine has been in the anticancer spotlight in biochemistry for a very long time, as its specificity and potency is regarded as incredible. All of you geneticists will love this one. So one of the most active regions in anticancer research is in telomerase inhibition. Telomerase – the enzyme - has been observed in around 90% of all human tumors thus its inhibition can lead to some premium drug discovery. Chelerythrine which is the second most prominent compound found in bloodroot binds to the g-quartet (in molecular biology: guanine-rich 4-stranded, nucleic acids) and to the phosphate backbone of the quadruplex, just like an antibody attaching itself to invaders like bacteria and virus'! Chelerythrines binding actions lead to aggregation to inhibit telomerase activity. Showing us that bloodroot has some incredible and invaluable promise in cancer treatment and prevention. Telomerase is present and prominent in the formation and necessary for the growth of uterine fibroids, yet another issue covered by our beloved bloodroot.
Sanguinarine, bloodroot's most famous and most common compound is well known for its antimicrobial effects but most
well known for being a potent apoptosis inducing, cell-destroyer! Many comparative studies have been done exploring sanguinarines dose dependent capability of destroying only abnormal tissues whilst leaving normal tissues alone.
Sanguinarine and chelerythrine were put through numerous comparative studies along side western medicines go-to steroid therapy, prednisone. Bloodroots anti-inflammatory actions were either on par or more significant in decreasing cytokine action than that of prednisone. In the event of fibroids, bloodroot eliminates just about every inflammatory and pro-inflammatory marker, allowing our bodies to focus on fixing the issue. Remember, inflammation keeps our bodies from being able to heal itself!
Combine the plants ability to eliminate the largest issues in the development of fibroids with its capability to target cell death in only abnormal tissues. It urges the mediation of growth factors, a process necessary for their regression. Lastly, bloodroot shows more significant anti-inflammatory action against cytokines expressed in fibroids. Inflammation gone, targeted cell death, halted growth and stimulated regression is the biggest soup of problems that fibroids have not been able to live through for who knows how many millenia the midwives of the woodlands have been prescribing, in the preservation of one of the worst things that can every happen to a woman, a miscarriage.

Other amazing medicinal benefits of Bloodroot

Bloodroot showed inhibition concentration-50 value of 0.53 against NB4 (leukemia) lines and 1.53 against mkn-45 (gastric cancer) lines which is outstandingly superior to the Standard anticancer inhibition concentrations, cis-platinum, with ic-50 of 2.39. just look at those numbers.
Bloodroot also has amazing antimicrobial effects against gram negative and gram positive bacterias, with its most outstanding efforts against Staph A.

The Doctrine of Signatures:

Bloodroot is an incredibly brilliant plant to behold. Its one leaf usually has two twin lobes horizontal from one another, with one narrow downward-facing large toothed appendage, the stem and root are in the center of this incredible plant.

In nature when a plant has 'twin' features horizontal from one another it usually has something to do with fertility or the reproductive system of a man or woman, to tell which the plant represents more features need to be identified. Bloodroot is obviously more connected to the female reproductive system because of the downward facing appendage in-between the twin lobes. This appendage is exact and remarkably familiar to the cervix.
So with this plant we have a perfect cervix and two ovaries, what should be in the middle of all this is a giant uterus, where is it? In the middle of all this is the stem holding everything up. At the base of the stem we have one of the most unique roots in nature, unique due to the brilliant red fluid that is shed when the root is cracked. This root is a beautiful representative of the uterus that sheds the endometrial blood-lining.

Here we have what my people have called a 'women's medicine' for who knows how long. A medicine that has been a relief of one of the most terrible and preventable circumstances that a woman can face, a miscarriage. We can clearly see now that this plant has been created to look like a female reproductive system, because that is what it has been created to heal!
